Greetings Earthlings. It’s just shy of April Fools…umm…Fission Fools Day? Also known as Fossil Fools Day (take your pick! choose both!!). Deb Katz of Citizens Awareness Network returns to The Enviro Show to update us on that God-awful leaky old nuke just over the border in Vermont (did we mention The Valley is just downwind & downstream from there?). Also, we finally get to that E-Valley-uation segment that got away from us last time, and we checkout The Enviro Show Echo Chamber for the news of the week. Did we say “week”? How about the Quote of the Week! We may even get to the Bus Stop Billboard, but first it’s time for…. Revenge of the Critters! Bird bombs Hadron Collider with Baguette!

Rock, Folk, Press Veteran’s Day Commeration Special

The show will feature clips from Award Winning Producer/ Director Lexy Lovell’s new documentary “The Good Soldier” which tracks the progress of 3 Veteran’s returning home from three Wars: WWII, Vietnam and Gulf War One as they attempt to assimilate in to society. The excerpt was presented on Bill Moyer’s Journal this past Friday 11/6. It packs a powerful antiwar message. The film itself will be released to the general public Wed 11/11 Veterans’s day. Hear clips here first. Our show will also feature excerpts from a Bill Moyers editorial in which he challenges a Washington Post editorial of 10/30/09 that calls the US presence in Afhanistan a “neccesary war.”
Moyers calls for institution of a draft to make the military call up which Obama will inevitably announce soon more equitable.

Greetings Earthlings. Jean’s back! Hopefully she’ll have a report from the front lines. We return to the scene of the crime with another look at fossil fuels and what’s out there to replace them. Professor <a href=” http://umassmag.com/2008/Spring_2008/Prerequisite/biofuel.html”>George Huber</a>, researcher at UMass Amherst’s Chemical Engineering Department joins us in the studio for a look at biofuels that don’t eat up the crops. Here are some things you should know about the new website . . .

If you are programmer and/or member of the station you can now post station news, meeting agendas and minutes, show announcements, play lists, or other program news on the website. AND it’s pretty damn easy. If you aren’t familiar with WordPress or blogging, even you should have very little problem. If you are now blogging on any kind of system, there is absolutely NO reason for you not to be taking advantage of this new resource.
