Saturday, January 8th, 2011 – 9-10am

2010 saw many great CD releases of music for families, including several local Western MA bands (Primate Fiasco, Mister G and Rani Arbo and daisy mayhem).  Narrowing down our selection to just 10 is one of the Top 10 Most Difficult Tasks of 2011 we’ve accomplished so far this year.  So we couldn’t just stop at 10 … we added one more at the end, mostly because we lost count, but also because we wanted to include a family album for the evening hours.  For the first couple of years HFVS was on the air, we aired on Tuesday nights, and there remains a soft spot in our hearts for albums appropriate for the evening hours.  We couldn’t resist adding one more to the list!

So here it is, our Top 10 of 2010, plus 1 to grow on, listed in alphabetical order. Click on the banner to find our list and podcast.

DINNER ON US PSA: In Amherst there will be a free weekly roundtable discussion series for campus and Amherst Family Center families with young children called Dinner on Us, Monday evenings during the academic year in the Student Union Building. As far as I know it’s open to all, but if they run into over enrollment, I’m sure that they will prioritize UMASS students, staff, and alums, as well as AFC families.  Sessions are free and include: dinner, supervised children’s activities and parking. Family Dinner: 5:15-5:45pm, Supervised Children’s Activities: 5:45-7:30pm, Roundtable Discussion: 6:00-7:30pm. Space is limited. To pre-register call: 413-545-4466 OR email cshrc@stuaf.umass.edu.
