A Baha’i Perspective 12.18.2010

Warren Odess-Gillett interviews Phyllis and Gene Unterscheutz. Four years ago Warren interviewed Phyllis and Gene and at that time they were traveling the US in their RV and drafting stories about the work in the field of race unity to be developed into a book. Well they’re back this time on a road trip promoting their just published book Longing: Stories of Racial Healing.

The Real Winter Solstice Enviro Show, Tues. 6:30pm

Greetings Earthlings. Happy Winter Solstice on this, the first Enviro Show to actually fall on the date of the Solstice. With that in mind we fore-go much of the usual bad news and carrying on and honor the season with Earth-inspired sound…..and maybe a few inspired rants. Surprise! Here’s some Solstice tunes to get us started, one of D.O.’s favorites, Paul Winter Consort with “Wolf Eyes”.
OK, so that felt a lot like some snowbound vista in the wild where the wolves rule and the winds howl. Speaking of wolves, it looks like Interior Secretary, Ken Salazar is trying to remove protections so his western rancher friends can kill them at will. Please go HERE and take action to protect these majestic critters. Did we say wolves? What about wolverines?? They need YOUR HELP too! Also in need of protection are our National Forests. How about sending Obama a Holiday card with that in mind?

A Baha’i Perspective 12.11.2010

Warren Odess-Gillett interviews Mona Rowshan. Mona was raised in a Persian Baha’i family that immigrated to the United States in the early 1970′s before the revolution in Iran. She grew up in a small town outside of Philadelphia, PA. Her professional career included working several years in the broadcasting industry as a television news reporter for an ABC-affiliate in upstate New York. She shares with us her story of how being a Baha’i has shaped and defined both her professional and personal life.
