VFR General Membership Mtg Minutes 11.19.08
Board Members Present: Linda Kennedy, Eddie Kennedy, Fidel Hidalgo, Tony Shannon, and Katherine Kendall,.
Others Present: Dana Prescott, Andy Sewell, Bob Gutowski, Megha Arraj, Samuel Hudnall, Danielle Plummer.
Meeting called to order by Fidel Hidalgo at 7:05pm.
Promotions Committee: Andy Sewell reported that the committee will meet before the General Meeting each month. The committee developed a list of promotional events and ideas. They recommended the use of ‘103.3’ as the marketing brand rather than VFR.
Volunteer Information Form: Tony Shannon has developed an email form to assist in obtaining pertinent information on all members/programmers (i.e. email address, phone, emergency contact, etc.). There was concern that the resulting list not be openly available to protect member/programmer privacy. It was agreed that the list would be accessible to the Board of Directors and Programming Committee only.
Tech Committee Update: Andy Sewell reported that they are in the process of cataloguing the equipment we now have and planning to fix any of that equipment that needs fixing. The committee is planning to have a digital and paper trail on all equipment. They will also set up an email address where tech problems can be reported.
VFR In the Future - ‘C3’: The group developing the space on Bliss Street, to be known as C3, has shown interest in having us there. VFR’s present rent is cheap and there was little support to move.
Other Business: Discussion was entered into regarding the recent personnel issue. There was concern that the Board act as a unit in any decision making. It was also agreed that the Bylaws be amended to note that emergency Board meetings could be called at the discretion of the Board to address emergency situations, giving as much notice as time allowed, and further that the location of the emergency meeting need not be at the MEF.
