Programming Committee Meeting 10.13.08
Attendance: Linda, Eddie, Dave Kopacz, Keely, Strong Oak, Steve C.
Work Logs: We talked about the status of programmer compliance. Frustrations were shared. The issue will be brought to the GM. We would like to support the Board in having programmers out of compliance come to Board meeting to explain what is going on for them.
No show warnings: We reviewed those who have been warned and their progress in rectifying the situation. Some official warnings issued.
Obscenity issues: There was one inadvertent instance discussed. It was pulled from the shelf and played without preview.
New Proposals:
Onawami Jean Moss, storyteller, submitted a proposal. Note: Keely will e-mail Lisa about last week’s show. Keepersd of the Word. Wants one hour show. Aimed at audiences of all ages. She was going to pre-record several shows. Start her off alternating with Lisa. Lisa runs Sundays noon to one. Eventually wants dinner time slot from 6:30-8:30 pm.
Another proposal was submitted by Lenore Bryck called “Words of Peace.”. We decided to review her disk ,d determine a slot where it will fit. Have her come to Programming committee meeting. We could run her show after the Laura Nyro show finishes. Keely will contact her.
Nicholas Simmons is proposing an economic literacy Show “Sir Simmons Show” He would like Sunday at 8PM slot. Been trained and has sat in at least we shows. Education and Social Issues Collective. Ed will contact Nicholas. We will offer him two hours if he wants it.
James Madison proposal called JM Show. Hour long show. Has demo available. Ed will listen to it
Harry Barret: ”Intimate encounters of the Real Kind”
Call in interviewees from all walks of live and orientations. Uses music as springboard. Education collective. Keely will write back asking for demo and tell him that it would fit in with education and social issues. Wants weekend slot. Needs training first.
