Membership Fee Proposal by Linda and Eddie Kennedy
Dear Valley Free Radio Family
As promised here it is…
The following proposal is put forth to the General Membership of
Valley Free Radio in the spirit of continuing and increasing our
commitment to it and our desire to see it excel at the highest level
possible, especially in this financially difficult period.
This proposal will be voted on at the next General Membership meeting
in October, 2008. You should plan to participate in the meeting to
vote on this proposal, or you may submit a written absentee vote to
the Board of Directors prior to the meeting date. Only those who are
‘members in good standing’ may vote.

Proposal for VFR Annual Membership Fee
This is a proposal to amend the bylaws of Valley Free Radio to include
an Annual Membership Fee for all those involved with the station
(programmers, studio managers, engineers, technical support staff
etc.) These funds would be deemed to be an investment in Valley Free
Radio by all those who have the opportunity to use the station in
whatever capacity. Along with the general support of the station’s
finances, it would be hoped that at least part of this investment
would be geared towards the maintenance and updating of equipment.
The fee would be mandatory and is being proposed as $25 per member
that could be paid in an annual lump sum, or one could choose to pay
over the first 5-months of the current membership year. The membership
year is November 1st through October 31st of any given year. This
Annual Membership Fee would be due each November 1st. All those
involved as of November the 1st will be expected to pay in full by
April 1st of that membership year.
New programmers and other new volunteers would be expected to pay the
Annual Membership Fee on a prorated schedule (i.e. November-January
$25, February-April $20, May-July $15, August-October $5).
Any VFR member who wishes to be considered for a ‘scholarship’ (i.e.
unable to pay the membership fee) a form would be made available to
them to complete and forward to the VFR Board for consideration. This
‘scholarship’ would be funded by any member who wishes to earmark a
second membership via ‘online donation’ or a personal check, so noted
for this purpose.
This will to be voted on at the General Membership Meeting Wed, October 15, 2008
