AGENDA

Programming Committee Report
All programmers have been contacted by their liaisons about new developments regarding volunteer requirements. Liaisons will be inputting all volunteer hours for their collective members using Easy Time Log. Programmers who have not yet been documented for 2 hours for the month of August have been sent warning letters via email and copies of the letters have been placed in their mailboxes. Programmer’s work requirements are 2 hours/month.

Board Nominations Committee
Mary Wheelan, Ed Russell and Steve Cutting volunteered to be the nominating committee for upcoming elections and will be assessing the membership for wise and wonderful people for possible nomination for the October elections.

Vote on Annual Membership Fee
Much discussion was had about whether or not a membership fee should be mandatory. Dana Prescott noted that according to the bylaws a vote cannot be taken in the same meeting as the discussion of the proposal. The vote will now be at the next GM Meeting on October 15. Eddie and Linda volunteered to draft a revised proposal with input from the meting to be distributed before next month’s meeting. They will be accepting suggestions for the proposal via e-mail.

Fundraising/On Air Fund Drive
It was again announced at the meeting that there will be an on air fund drive beginning Monday September 22nd and ending Sunday September 28th.
Various strategies were discussed for using programming lost during the pledge drive. Programmers are encouraged to line up a second person to assist in answering phones and taking pledges. A list of Do’s and Don’t’s will be posted in the broadcast studio.

Programmers are again encouraged to take over automaton slots and use that time for the on-air pledge drive. Local hosts are encouraged to also mention the pledge drive. It was suggested that the pledge drive be extended until we meet our goal of $7500. It was also suggested that each show continue until a minimum is attained.

Matt announced a possible future monthly co-benefit with Flywheel as organized with Lila Wolan. Another fundraising event at the Elevens was discussed as Katherine/reason has gotten approval for such an event. Katherine also offered to have VFR set up tables at upcoming events at various venues at which she will be performing.

Underwriting Update/Discussion
We received a check from River Valley Market for $1,300–the full amount they owed us for 6 months of underwriting. Matt Dineen will be contacting all of the current underwriters about renewing their contracts which will begin November 1st. He will also be contacting additional cooperative businesses about filling the remaining underwriting slots.
It was asked if we should adjust our standards to accept underwriting from a wider possible pool of possibilities. At this time no changes to existing policy have been made.
