*IMPORTANT - To be a programmer in good standing*

Many changes are in the works to make VFR more efficient and logical and to ensure our on-air longevity. One of these changes regards the lists for *discussion* and *announcement*. Some small changes will be made to make the lists less confusing and more useful.

*ALL PROGRAMMERS ARE REQUIRED TO BE ON THE ANNOUNCEMENT LIST SERV.*  No exceptions. This is so you can stay informed of things that affect your show.

From now on, only board members will be able to post to the *announcement *list serv. If you have an announcement to make please send it to board@valleyfreeradio.org and it will be posted. If you are not already on this list *please sign up by emailing Valley-Free-Radio-Announcements@googlegroups.com and please do so soon!*This list serv will also now be a *do-not-reply* list as it is for announcements only and not discussion.

This *announcement *list is where important information will be posted and will contain information about updates, requirements and meetings etc. It is expected that all programmers will have access to email BUT, in the case that there are a few programmers who do not have any access to email at all, *announcements will also be posted at the station in an area to be designated for such*. If you can get to the station to do your show or to drop it off for automation or do your required volunteer hours, you can at that time take a few minutes to read the *announcements *and be up to date on all VFR stuff.

Signing up for the the *discussion *list will remain optional and that list will remain much the same as it is now, with the ability to reply.

More changes are in the works such as the *October 1st lock change* and enforcement of requirements necessary to be a programmer in good standing and thus keep your show. The rules have been the same all along but due to the number of programmers having shows YET not contributing to the station in many much-needed ways, there will be more effort placed on enforcing the same regulations as we were all made aware of in training. It’s a reciprocal relationship - You get a show, in return you help the station with the few minimal requirements which have been in place since the beginning. We need the support of all to remain on air.

See the meeting minutes posted at http://www.valleyfreeradio.org/ for important information regarding the upcoming on air pledge drive, volunteer requirements, the upcoming lock change and more.
