Music Collective Meeting Minutes 7.22.08
Present: Eddie Kennedy (Music Collective Liaison), Linda Kennedy, Jay
Chase, Butch Bouchard, Steve Cutting, Rikk Desgres, Joann Lutz, Bush I
Harvey Altmai.
Apologies sent from Lila Wolan and Steve Curylo.
Meeting began at 7:15pm
Steve Cutting agreed to cover the Americana Shack for SJ Mack on
Wednesday.
The status of the Look Park event was reviewed. The event has been
postponed. The idea of seeking out alternative venues for a future
event was agreed.
There were no requests for any show time slot changes.
Attendance policy was reviewed. If a programmer cannot do their show
they must find a replacement or put a show into automation, as well as
inform their Collective Liaison and the Programming Coordinator.
Music collective members were reminded to sign in on the program log;
these logs are checked weekly by Eddie Kennedy.
Naughty words were again discussed. Alan Vogel is rewriting the
policy and procedures to handle complaints and how offending
programmers will be dealt with.
Joann Lutz talked about a show she is preparing that focuses on Laura
Nero and she was advised as to how to get her show on the schedule.
Interim Music Collective Liaison – Eddie and Linda will be away for
two weeks in August, so an interim Liaison is needed to cover that
time. Butch Bouchard volunteered to represent the Collective at the
August Programming Meeting. Steve Cutting volunteered to represent the
Collective at the August General Meeting.
Programmers, Jay Chase in particular, have had problems airing live
calls on their shows in that the constant beep from call-waiting is
heard on air. They were encouraged to bring this issue up at the next
General Meeting.
Rikk Desgres and Jay Chase are working privately to do a fundraiser to
get a “kill button/shortcut” for the studio.
Bush I shared his view of the cancellation of Look Park’s Pines
Theater as the venue for the August 9th event.
Meeting adjourned at 9:00pm.
Respectfully submitted
Linda Kennedy

Hi,
You folks played a great song that relates to the “forbidden words” covered in your Aug.20 2008 meeting.
I don’t live in the area, but was driving through on Sunday, 8/17/08 and actually scribbled all the info down on a scrap of paper while navigating traffic. Had intended to find out the particulars in a more timely manner, but 4 months later, here I goes.
It was 4 pm, and a substitute dj named Johanna, or Joanna, was talking about being “the overlap” segment.
She played this wonderful song that started out with the untamed habits of pirates, which
turned into
“I cannot change the way
Young people talk to one another
But
I don’t expect to hear you say
The F-Word to your mother…”
…What a great song!
Can you give me any info on locating a copy?
I’d like to send it to everyone I know.
You have a wonderful radio station. Keep up the good work.
Thanks, Ingrid Wheeler
