This Week on Midweek Politics with David Pakman

Produced by:

Louis Motamedi, WXOJ, Northampton, MA

Total Running Time: 56:20

This Week’s Topics:

–The Don Imus controversy, which began with him calling the Rutgers women’s basketball team “nappy-headed ho’s.” Included are Imus’ various apologies, press appearances that got him into more trouble, comments by those who have decided to defend him, and more, including discussion of why Al Sharpton would function as a mediator when he himself has a racist past, as well as the resulting punishment for Imus.

–Today’s announcement that tours of duty in Iraq will now be extended to a maximum of 15 months from the previous 12 months.

–One pundit thinks that we need to forget about WMD’s, as this whole Iraq war was simply to get us into Iran, which is the real goal.

–Congressman Charlie Rangel tells Vice President Dick Cheney to get a life, and indicates that it’s clear from Cheney’s five military deferments that he isn’t too familiar with military fighting.

–Yet another statement from Rudy Giuliani about his position on abortion and public funding for it.

–Dick Morris is at it again, this time saying that if not for Hillary Clinton, Americans would be afraid of the first black man running for president.

–Senator Barack Obama on The Late Show with David Letterman, where he was asked about possibly being a Vice President, or having Hillary Clinton as one.

–Senators Arlen Specter and Joe Lieberman debate whether they think House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s trip to Syria was acceptable, and you’d be surprised to hear which one is in favor and which is against.

–On KSFO’s Morning Show, a bizarre comment about Al Sharpton and watermelon is made.
