Audio From VFRs Launch on the First Anniversary
On August 7, 2005, Valley Free Radio “flipped the switch” and went live on the air amidst cheers from the local community and community radio buffs from around the country who were gathered for the weekend “barnraising” sponsored by the Prometheus Radio Project that helped get us up and running and the Grassroots Radio Conference happening simultaneously.
Papa Dish, father of Prometheus founder Petri Dish, recorded the parade and countdown to our first seconds on the air, which you can listen to here (hear!).
