General Membership Meeting Minutes: June 2006
The VFR General Membership meeting for the month of June was held on Wednesday 6/21/06 from 7-9pm at MEF.
- Membership qualifications discussion (continued)
- Obscenity Policy follow-up
- Plan Bylaws drafting. Brainstorm, what kind of process, etc.
- Committee reports
- GRC discussion
- Discussion of joining the “Save the Internet” coalition
Agenda
- VFR will join the “Save the Internet” coalition. Candace volunteers to be the point person and help facilitate action.
- Libby, Cathy, Bob, Jane will draft a proposal for membership requirements. Candace will type up the brainstorming on “concerns” and “solutions” related to membership requirements from the May and June GM s and send them to this sub-committee.
- Amendments to the Obscenity Policy
- 2nd and 3rd offenses to be handled the Board
- An individual who has been indefinitely suspended can appeal the decision to the Board after three months
- “Safe Harbor” and “Free Speech” will be resolved at the July GM meeting.
- Financial Assistance with GRC and Barnraising attendance
- Deadline for GRC applicants: July Board meeting
- Deadline for barnraising applicants: August Board meeting
Notice will be e-mailed and posted in the studio asking for applicants (Candace will do).
- VFR will contribute $200 to both of the GRC solidarity funds
- Bylaws drafting committee call-out for interest will be sent. Bob Gardner will post in station, Candace will post on website, and Jane will post to e-mail lists. Board reps will speak to their committees.
